It’s official the BBC has cancelled a show where the main character was played by a BAFTA winner. *slow sarcastic clap*
Still pressed that Anna and Dominic weren’t nominated and Peter didn’t win (because oh my god WHAT, how was anything better than that scene?)
It gets worse when you count last years. Of the big five (Whishaw, Garai, West, Chancellor and Capaldi) four were nominated for BAFTAs last year (West won, Chancellor was nominated for her role in The Hour, and Capaldi was nominated more for writing and directing last year and not acting but we’ll count it anyway)…It has seriously got one of the most talented casts assembled at the moment. They still cancelled the show.
Also, Anna and Dominic not getting nominations was a huge oversight. It seems particularly unfair in Chancellor’s case as Capaldi’s scenes were largely with her and they were both equally brilliant so to nominate Capaldi but then not nominate Chancellor does make it look like who ever was doing the nominating had no clue.
Of course, that always happens *insert historical grievous awards oversight of your choice here*

Hmmm. Wow. I managed to grumble at the BBC for cancelling The Hour and award shows for being crap at the same time. I’m multitasking today.

Allie Brosh and Hyperbole and a Half are back after a year and a half of internet silence. That’s incredibly good news for people who like awesome things.
I point this out for two reasons:
- It contains one of the best evolutionary biology illustrations of all time (above), about how we are at the end of a long line of things that successfully avoided getting chewed to death.
- It is one of the greatest explorations and personal stories of depression and mental health that I have ever seen, and should really be read by every single damn person on Earth.
